Tacos Guaymas is a fantastic little gem, with great food and nice people. Small, only six tables, you might miss it or dismiss it walking by. But the food is solid. The tortilla soup is large and authentic. The wet carnitas is huge, and meat is cooked well with flavor. This place far surpasses a few other joints nearby by of the same price point.

A classic example of a mediocre restaurant in a prime location. This place tastes as if an amateur Italian chef were trying to make authentic Mexican cuisine. My first bite into my "Wet Chile Colorado Burrito" immediately tasted like marinara sauce from Walmart.
I get it, there are people who are rolling in from bars in Cap Hill who can be fed this kind of slop and love it, but if you're looking for some actual Mexican food, this isn't the place to go. If you're looking for a good bang-for-your-buck feedhole in the area, it can get the job done. I certainly was full after I ingested this burrito, but the feeling that it gave me afterwards wasn't worth it.
The one thing I will give them props on is the variety of sauces. The extra green sauce gave my spaghettio-burrito a little flare, and helped me to get this thing down. This could best be labeled as an "eat at your own risk" type of establishment. Disappointing, because the people who work here seem genuinely nice. -

When the clock strikes the second hour and the clubs close their doors, Tacos Guaymas stands strong to feed the patrons of Cap-ville.
I'll admit the times I've gone here I've been way too drunk to remember how the food tasted like but I always had a good time with friends. The place is definitely a little dirty at night and the prices are a little bit pricey for comparable Mexican grub. But I threw up here on my 21st and somehow I made it safely home so they are alright in my book. -

Good food after a night of drunk adventures. Couldn't tell you if it tasted good by they're open late so that's good enough for me. Small place and a little sticky but the employees are nice.

A friend from LA was craving Tacos, so we ended up here after I remembered having a pretty good Quesadilla there one night.
We ordered mixed plates and enjoyed the different flavors of the meats and all the different condiments you can add. I liked the rice, the beans were lacking in flavor a bit, but when you eat it "all together" it's nothing I would be really concerned about.
My friend was super happy with her food as well and brought the leftovers home for their partner to enjoy.
It's a tiny place but super close to the action on Capitol Hill, so if you're in the neighborhood and feel a taco-itch, you won't be wrong chosing this place!
